FALLEN ANGEL in The Garden
A visual poem titled Fallen Angel corrects the centuries long interpretation of Satan and the Serpent
and the Fall of Man. This video writing work was inspired by a reading of
Milton's Paradise Lost
in the Fall of 2006. Fashioned by Milton after Cromwell died, and the English Revolution died down,
for reformation was unable to stand against centuries of belief, the king was restored.
Milton asserts the doctrine of the Church in England, the King was to be sacrosanct, and wrote this parody of Cromwell.
Can we now believe that the Forbidden Fruit, is just a name for Tree of Knowledge? Of course.
Knowlege and power was long held to be the aegis of the church (Rome) which dictated to the people.
In the story, the Fallen Angel (Cromwell) against the church of God, a serpent connived/spoke to the woman,
thereby plunging the people into more grief (the Fall) for losing immortality, but that means to
control people through the structure of belief and rewards given by the church. Change requires perception....
So begins democracy, with re-interpretation and re-evaluation of EVERYTHING we think.
Foremost, we can begin to recognize that we are the creator, and the tree is the ladder to heaven on earth..
