back 205 Lavinia Street is an Art/Health/Development Gallery on Delmarva Peninsula. In 2006, they changed a static website to a Wordpress blog featuring video. In the beginning they didn't have a video camera, but bought one shortly after they saw the videos made with my camera and an Apple computer, using imovie. The kind of information that is made, how ideas are presented, and ultimately what the gallery is looking for changed head over heels. The video is not a free gift to artists or lecturers, or performance, or workshops, but is a statement for the promotion of each artist/therapist with their topic. Others benefit by the human-ness of vision. No longer is an artist just showing work, but creating the video mirror which is so powerful in learning. This first video is out of chronology, the next couple precede this, then there is a concert of efforts with a drumming father and prayerful son, then, the work is primarily Lavinia videos. The goal? To increase the creative powers of everybody, in enabling them to tell the story, which is most of all from their heart, and sharing it, -that others may learn, and create their story.
